Between Seasons

The time in-between summer and fall can bring some strange weather. It's not quite as hot during the day, but it's not cold enough for the snow to stick. Wakeboarding season starts to fade away as the trees turn yellow. I crashed really hard on my knee one of those last days on the wakeskate and was stuck inside for weeks trying to recover. I started this piece as pure exploration, looking out the window at the wind through the pine trees. But I was still thinking about the lake and how those great summer days had come to an end...at least this year. In the end, the lines and swirls in this piece came full circle and sort of tied themselves together, much like the passing seasons.
