SCI New Years 2014 Poster!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

It’s an honor to contribute my artwork once again to Conscious Alliance and The String Cheese Incident for the new year’s shows in Colorado. This will be the 10th poster design that I have done for Conscious Alliance, and it seems fitting it should be for a hometown throw-down such as this! I’m constantly blown away by the love and support you guys have shown at our Art that Feeds food drives over the years. It’s wonderful to be involved with a group of people so aware and compassionate. The SCI and Conscious Alliance community have truly set the bar…

What a long strange trip it’s been…

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Today I’m super stoked to announce the launch of my brand new website! I consider myself a hobbyist at best when it comes to web-design… I know a string or two of code, I can build a few pages and throw in some PayPal buttons sure, but the time had come to step it up… so for this project, I was thrilled to bring my friend and super-pro-web-guru Andrew Strom from Irona, Inc. on board. I could not have made this happen without his incredible know-how and extreme patience with my many, many requests and desires. I’m happy to say…

Assorted Ramblings

Some answers to an interview I did a while back… What / who inspires your artwork? All kinds of things inspire my artwork. I get a lot of ideas while hiking in the mountains. It’s a meditative process to go out by yourself and just think about everything that’s going on. I have a million projects happening at the same time… all the time, so when I get out and just think about everything, it helps me clear my head to think about new things. I notice and appreciate a lot of the patterns in nature, things like bark, leaves,…

Owl Eyes

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Owls have always intrigued me. Not only are they physically fascinating , but their illusiveness has a magical quality. I feel like at any moment they could transform into a wizard or vanish in a puff of smoke. Whenever I see an owl, I’m inspired to capture some of this mysterious energy in my work. Not too long ago I was walking my dogs at dusk and saw an owl silhouetted in the pine trees against the fading light. The stars were just starting to come out and the wind was kicking up…it was a charged moment, and I was…

Conscious Alliance Food Drive

It is said that the phoenix is the rarest of all birds, for only one can exist at a time. It can live for 500 years, and when it dies, it is reborn. It is a symbol of reincarnation. Each time the phoenix is re-born it is said to transform into a higher version of itself, constantly in pursuit of perfection. I feel the legend of the phoenix ties in well with the spirit of the electric forest. Much in the same way that the phoenix is born anew, so is the energy in the forest… constantly growing and evolving…

Working with lasers has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember… and I’m super stoked to say that dream has become a reality! I’m stoked to announce that I’m once again teaming up with Conscious Alliance to bring you a 3D Lenticular poster for Electric Forest 2013! New Artwork: Guardian of the Gore Range

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

This piece was inspired by many long nights at the cabin in Heeney this winter. Heeney is a magical little town that sits in the shadow of the Gore Range… one of the burliest mountain ranges in Colorado. There are no easy access routes, and many of the peaks are still unnamed. They are mysterious and powerful. Once you turn off the main road going from Silverthorne to Kremmling and head west towards Heeney, it feels like driving into another dimension. No phones, no internet, and hardly any other people around. It’s beautiful in the daytime, but straight up scary…

New Artwork: Owsley Was Here

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

I recently held a contest on my Facebook page to help me name my bear. There were over 130 entries. I was blown away by all of the creative responses, it was awesome! The name that struck a chord for me was “Owsley”. For those of you who may not know, this is a reference to Owsley Stanley, who was a sound man for the Grateful Dead and responsible for recording and preserving many of their live shows. In fact, I listened to many hours of Owsley’s recordings as I was drawing this very piece. His nickname also happened to…
