New Artwork & Poster Design for the Boulder Marathon!

Click here to view ~ The Mountain Lion ~ full-size in my gallery!
| The Mountain Lion is one of those animals that I would love to see in nature (from a safe distance of course... kind of like a great-white shark in the ocean:) They are super elusive, yet ever-present. I've come across dozens of torn-apart deer carcasses that sent shivers down my spine, yet somehow, in all of my years hiking in Tahoe and Colorado, I've yet to see one in person. And the more I think about it, the more I'm OK with that... it's fun to at least imagine what one might look like bounding across the fields... super fast, super powerful... king of the mountain. |

Longer days and warmer nights... how sweet it is! Reminds me that summer is right around the corner, and it's about time to gear up for festival season. I've been hard at work in the studio all winter and wanted to do something a little different this year. I decided to break away from my usual routine of releasing each piece as it's finished, and opted to hold off and share them all at once. So here we go... 5 new pieces that have been stashed away until today! Love to hear any thoughts or comments, please enjoy! Click here to view these full-size...

~ A Coloring Book for Big Kids - 3rd Edition ~ Now Available!
It's hard to believe the day has arrived! Announcing A Coloring Book for Big Kids - 3rd Edition! When I first started the coloring book project almost 4 years ago, I had no idea it would become such a hit. So far, through festivals, the gallery, and the website, I've sent over 1800 copies out into the world... wowzer!
I am honored that so many of you have connected with my drawings, and I'm so grateful for your support. I love getting your colored versions of these pages via email and Facebook... it's awesome!
Now there's a whole new book to enjoy. As my work has progressed over these past few years, the drawings have become more complicated and intricate, so beware... these ones are indeed harder! But that leads to increased coloring-stokedness right?!
Pick up a copy today and enjoy!

| A big gigantic THANK YOU to everyone who donated to Conscious Alliance at the Winter Carnival shows! Together we helped collect over 25,000 lbs of food items... making it the largest and most successful food drive in Conscious Alliance's history!!! It's amazing to see the support that comes from our community when we put our positive energy together. I am truly blown away and honored to have contributed my work for such a great cause! Thank you all so much!

New Artwork ~ Tree of Life
The arrival of spring is something I certainly look forward to. While I do love hibernating in the studio and the serenity of snow, it's hard to argue with the energy that comes when the ice starts to melt. All around trees are budding, the grass is turning green, and flowers are popping up everywhere. New energy abounds, and the days of shorts and flip-flops are near :)

| Allrighty then! First blog entry for 2011 ~ Here we go!
Announcing my latest project... a 3-Panel poster design for The String Cheese Incident and Conscious Alliance!
The original idea came from a spot along the Dakota Ridge trail here in Boulder. I've been hiking this trail nearly every day for almost 9 years now (wow time flies) and it never ceases to inspire more artwork. I started working on this piece right around the winter solstice and the full-lunar-eclipse, and there was definitely a strange vibe in the air ~
There is a view towards the bottom of the trail that is actually pretty average for the many amazing points along the way... but there is always something about it that intrigues me. Basically it's a field of tall grass that heads up to the ridge from the neighborhood below. When the wind comes whipping through, it blows the grass and looks like ocean waves. It's right where the hogbacks meet the plains and there's a certain energy about it that's hard to explain... at least in words... perhaps better through the pens :)
I am also very excited to work on a poster for SCI. The first time I saw them play was at a free show on the CC campus in '97. Nobody had really heard of them before, but we thought their name was cool and decided to check it out... they proceeded to blow our minds for the next two hours, and went on to become one of the most successful bands in Colorado history. I'm honored to contribute my artwork for this poster.
I feel that this piece is on another level, and I'm really excited about how it turned out.
I'd love to hear any thoughts or comments. Please feel free to share the love with anyone you think might dig it. I hope everyone is having a wonderful winter!
You can also click here to view the artwork for this piece without the poster text / design...
Posters will be available at the 1STBANK Center on the nights of the shows. You can donate 10 cans or non-perishable food items per panel, or 25 for all three! You can also donate $10 or $30 instead of food. Donation stations will be setup both inside and out front of the venue, and tickets to the show are not necessary to pick up the posters. Please come on down and support a fantastic cause! To learn more about Conscious Alliance, please visit their website here: ConsciousAlliance.org
