Giclee - pronounced "zhee-clay" - is a term used by fine-art industry to describe ink-jet-based digital prints. It comes from the French word "gicler" which basically means, "to spray", like the ink in the printers. I have my prints done on fine-art canvas using the highest quality archival inks. These are then sprayed with a semi-gloss UV coating, and gallery wrapped on 1 1/12" stretcher bars. I really appreciate how fully the inks saturate the colors on the canvas, and I think they look incredible.
