The Lighthouse
A few years ago I was fortunate enough to visit the Sangrada Familia in Barcelona - A massive gothic cathedral designed by Antoni Guadi in the late 1800's. It's an amazing building with all sorts of psychedelic towers and sculpture that completely blew my mind. I bought a bunch of books on Gaudi's architecture right there, and I knew immediately that his work would inspire some of my own in the future. I have also been reading a lot of counter-culture magazines lately, one of which...hi-fructose, just featured Yoko D'holbachie's work. I was instantly drawn into her amazing, surreal characters and candy-coated color schemes. So if you throw those two influences together in a blender, and toss in some of the unfinished fish-bowl theme from The Joker...and you wind up with The Lighthouse...enjoy.
